1.  Multplying by a whole number

2.  Do not change the mixed number to an improper fraction!

3.  Mental calculation.

4.  Reduce before multiplying, if possible.

 4.   a) 35 × 78 = 2140 b) 58 × 79 = 3572 c) 38 × 49 = 16
 4.   d) 23 × 34 = 12 e) 2 15 × 98 = 3 20 f) 6 35 × 2021 = 8 49
 4.   g) 7 12 × 8 21 = 29 h) 9 10 × 2533 = 1522 i) 49 × 94 = 1
 1.   j)  12 × 5 18 = 3 13 k)  12 × 79 = 9 13 l)  42 × 37 = 18
 4.   m) 13 × 23 × 57 = 1063 n) 23 × 35 × 14 = 1 10 o) 6 20 × 43 × 52 = 1

5.  Multiply.

 5.   a)  5 14 × 2 23 = 14 b)  2 23 × 4 12 = 12 c)  6 34 × 1 25 = 9 9 20
 5.   d)  1 57 × 1 59 = 2 23 e)  1½ × 1½ × 1½ = 3 38
